ok anyways... onto those pool days....
So it is very nice having a pool to go to when ever we want. Not far from our house either.. we can walk, it's right in our back yard (pretty much) 2 roads over really.... we do drive most times because it's
so freakin hot and humid here, that by the time we walked back home, we would need another swim. Plus I have a pretty heavy pool bag with 4 kids, so we just drive over, and then ride in the A/C back home ;)
The kids love it... the girls are so big now that they go off with their friends and jump in and swim around in the "deep" end. What I love, is that the deep end is only 5 ft..so I don't have to worry really. The shallow end has a beach like walk in, with fountains (which I hate, because they blow on you and today they turned on out of no where and got me in the back and shocked me a bit!! ) but anyway... the kids love them, and they have an overhead sprinkler type thingy, that the kids also love. Its nice.. and it slowly walks in and gets deeper, but is very gradual. It's great, they can all swim around and I really don't worry. There are a few life guards on duty at all corners also and they do a pretty good job.
I can't lie though, the pool opened over Memorial day weekend and my neighbor asked if the kids and I wanted to go with them (since Ryan is away tight now, it would just be me and them) well.. I had to go breath into a paper bag a few times before getting up the courage to take 4 kids to the pool. See it had been a whole year since they had been swimming, so I wasn't sure how it would go, would I be pulled in 4 different directions, would Missa be trying to jump off sides all over the place while I try to keep Kale man in view... how was this going to go!?
It went really well! Which is obviously why we have been back quite a few times! They do awesome! Now Kale and Bryn are taking swimming lessons, so hopefully it will get even better. The more they know, the better they will be!
They are loving it, and so am I....yes there are times it still take a lot for me to give in and say "yes we can go to the pool" because in the end I am still doing it alone with 4 kids, and have to pack and get all their suits and sunscreen on... it's exhausting! It's fun though, and worth it. They have a blast, and like I said, it's easier than I had anticipated it being...not to mention they fall asleep within 2.4 seconds of hitting the pillow at night! ;)
It's a good way to spend our hot days.....
Just chillin' pool side
Swimming lessons
