I've been slacking on my poor blog. I was going to update this past weekend, however the "Noro-virus" had other plans for this household. It felt like death came riding in on a freight train and took out anything in its way!
It all started on Sunday, taking out K and Daddy. It was even more awful because K Man was so excited to go with daddy to the Monarchs hockey game that day. Poor boys! Daddy took the brunt of it that day, it seemed to take it a bit easier on K. His bouts of..... ok never mind I'll spare you the details... we will just say his "bouts", were not too over the top. He was actually kinda of smiling and just laying around with his blankie and pillow watching his shows all day and trying to drink plenty of fluids. Daddy on the other hand.... not as lucky.
We opened windows and tried our best to air it out as much as possible. The girls and I were supposed to be going to Daddies parent's house for my brother in-laws birthday lunch... so I packed them up to get them out of the house. Ended up dropping the big girls off early and taking Missa with me to Target. Where we stalked up on LOT's of cleaning/disinfecting supplies and meds! Thankfully my supply of herbs and vitamins I had ordered on line showed up just in the nick of time too. So we were fully stalked and ready to fight this disgusting virus!
That white bottle is bleach spray, because apparently it is pretty much the only thing that will actually kill this virus on surfaces. I have never bleached so many surfaces in my house in my life! Thats ok, because I want it off of everything!
Missa tried so hard to air herself out and not become infected...
This mom was the next to go down. Monday mid afternoon it struck. All I can say is thank God Daddy had Mon & Tues. off this week, because I really have no idea what I would have done. I'm pretty sure I shed about 20lbs by midnight! Woah baby.... that was NOT FUN!
Tuesday night B went to bed at 6:45 and was gagging at 7. I ran upstairs to find her sitting in a puke covered bed, it spared no blanket, stuffed animal or hair on her head! Daddy got her in the tub as I cleaned up the mess. YUCK. When someone is sick here, we set up camp in the living room for the night, as to not bother anyone else, and make it easier for mom to come to the rescue. Daddy brought B's mattress right down stairs to the living room so she would be comfy. (She lucks out there, seeing she is in the toddler bed with a small mattress still) After cleaning her area of the room, and setting up camp in the living room, there was nothing left but the frame of her bed...
The big girls went to sleep soundly...
Thankfully that was it for her, and we did manage to get some sleep. Her a little more then me since I was paranoid she was going to start puking at any moment. I was woken up once by her around 12:30am... she was standing at the t.v. saying "Me too play just dance" HAHA, Apparently she was feeling revived!
The only two that haven't been taken out now are E & I, and I'm praying they will be spared. Maybe by being out of the house & at school for most of the day, they will have a little more of a fighting chance? Let's hope!
Now we are FINALLY supposed to get some snow this afternoon into tonight. (Haven't gotten more than flurries since Halloween!) Hopefully we really will get this snow and it will help kill off this crazy virus!
Stay Healthy!!!

Will you except this rose......
We haven't done anything "special" for Valentine's day in a long time. Like before we were married, so at least 8 1/2 yrs ago. We used to go out to dinner, why I don't know? It's so expensive, and there are way too many people trying to do the same thing. Once we got married, we just made dinner at home and made it a point to relax and enjoy it... nothing fancy, just simple & together. That's what counts right.... I mean do we really need a designated day for love? I think Valentine's day is way over priced and over rated! I won't even let Ryan buy me flowers because the price is so jacked up.
Well anyway, The girls had school of course since it fell on a Tuesday. They were very excited for their class party (see that's when Valentine's day was fun) ;) We made a special valentine for their classmates and teacher and of course for a few friends and cousins too. They headed off to school with big smiles and backpacks filled with sugar to hand out.
When we got back home from dropping them off, Missa went off to her room to play, I went up to check on her and found her having a tea party with I's American girl doll....

Tea for you
and tea for me!
She looks like a giant sitting at the little doll table ;) It was so cute, I honestly didn't think she would still be sitting there when I got back with the camera. There she was though, pouring tea and pretending to mix it up. I was offered some as well. It was a very sweet little party.
After a heart shaped lunch (Sandwiches cut with a cookie cutter), and a bunch of red things to go with it (strawberries etc...), we decided to make some cupcakes to surprise the girls and also share with the cousins. All my kids love to help bake and cook, so K & B both took turns adding eggs, sugar, oil and of course their favorite part... Mixing! I think they love that part so much because they sneak licks! While B was napping K got to decorate...
so proud of his work
Later we picked up the girls from school. Of course I was expecting them to come home with loads of sweet treats, right... that's what happens at class parties. However I was Not expecting one of my 6 year old daughters to come home with a RED ROSE!!
Oh Goodness!!! Poor E was quite embarrassed by this, her sister was the one who informed me of this when they got in the car at pick up. E had it hidden in her backpack ;) I asked her if I could see it, so she took it out and then started smiling... however the smile started to turn into a majorly annoyed face fast as her sister is telling me she was the ONLY one who got a rose from "Adam". She goes on to tell me, she told this "Adam" that it was very nice of him to give a rose to her sister E. AWWW
On the ride home I was asking her about this boy and I was trying not to laugh. She got mad ..."Why are you laughing... it isn't funny... we are just friends.... he said I am his best girl friend, his bff" I tried to explain to her that I just thought it was cute.
When daddy got home, he jokingly said "we need to have a chat about this boy" while laughing and playing with her..... She pretty much got sick of listening to everyone talk about her rose, So she told us it was now for mommy.
However a day later when we ask who's pretty rose is on the counter, her little cheeks turn rosy and she puts on her little shy face and shrugs. :) I think it's adorable!
Of course there was also plenty of chocolate. I'm not sure what's worse, Halloween or Valentine's day?!?!
Those bags are Full, and there is more in the cabinets!
Oh GOSH my six year old got a rose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Daddy is going to have to start cleaning that gun a lot sooner than he thought! LOL ;)

lazy saturday
Daddy has drill this weekend, so we have nothing planned. Just hanging around, catching up on some laundry and a few other "chores." It has been nice to not have anywhere to go, but the day also seems to be going very slow. There have been a few fights. That is to be expected though. As I write this I hear "OOUUUCCCCCHHHH!!!" coming from the other room followed by "Poopy K man!!" Oh good grief children, just get along!
We hung out in our jammies for a while this morning. The kids played upstairs for a bit and I did my Insanity work out with good ol' Shaun T..... Shaun T. and I have a love hate relationship, although I'm not sure he knows this. Pretty sure it's all love on his end, he loves working you!
The kids like to join in and work out with me. I find it very unfair that they get way more water breaks than I do! We had breakfast after our workout. I love the way Missa eats her cereal. Or should I say her "yo-yo-milk" ;) which is what she calls cereal w/milk.
Always with a straw. Otherwise she makes a huge mess trying to drink the milk out of her yo-yo. We used to have the bowls with the straws built right in. Not sure what happened to those, but now we just stick a flexi-straw in and call it good! E & I can not resist a photo-op, so when they saw the flash they came running in. Missa decided to share her yo-yo with Em just as I snapped the picture. ;)
The kids asked to watch a movie in Mom & Dad's room this afternoon. What better to do as Mom is trying to change the bedsheets? Oh well, I'll get it all put back together later, in the meantime they play hide n' seek under the comforter. I had to get some more pictures when I went in to check on them and they were surprisingly sitting and watching the movie. They were very into it...

B, K man & E
"I" in the rocking chair ;)
Yes, the T.V. is on one of Daddy trunks from Kuwait. He says it's "Ghetto". I say they were both sitting on the floor in our bedroom, so I put them both to use! Someday another dresser will replace the trunk, but for now, ghetto works for me!
They were watching "Bedtime stories", a favorite here lately. Them sitting so contently however, does not ever last long... so I was sure to capture a few more pictures for proof that it is an occurrence from time to time. Even if it is rare!
"I" loves the rocker (and her robe!) ;)
SO into it! :)
E & Missa
Yes, that would be an ice pack in Missa's hand. Before the calm there was a storm and she got a nice little bump above her eye. No she probably didn't need the ice, but it's fun to carry around, apply it to the bump from time to time, and when not being used on the eye, it is great for licking!
Well, now to think about what to make for dinner. Have a great weekend!
